Miami’s Coolest Cocktail Bars

Firewater 2

Leather couches, oversized mirrors, a floor made of pennies and crystal chandeliers come together to create just the right amount of overstimulation at this undercover speak-easy, while cocktails made with moonshine transport guests to another era. 34 NE 11th St., Miami; 305.363.2120; libertinemiami.com

The newest outpost from the Pubbelly Boys is all about views, views, views, as it’s located on the rooftop of downtown’s recently renovated Langford Hotel. Inventive cocktails served with artistic bites set the scene for a perfect happy hour that continues on into the night. 121 SE First St., Miami; 305.420.2200; pawnbrokermiami.com

With a name like Blind Pig, you might expect to find a barbecue joint rather than a lounge, but the name actually derives from a phrase that once described speak-easies. Leather booths, vintage suitcases and dark woods round out the throwback aesthetic of this Miami newcomer, which serves timeless cocktails from its sizable mahogany bar. 28 NE 14th St., Miami; 305.392.0687

This popular drinkery exploded onto the scene when it opened in 2012, introducing Miami to a playful bar concept with a large courtyard, a small pool and games like Ping-Pong and Jenga. Four years later, The Broken Shaker is still a go-to hot spot for locals, as James Beard-nominated mixologists deliver delicious cocktails featuring fresh, exotic ingredients from around the world. 2727 Indian Creek Drive, Miami Beach; 305.531.2727; brokenshaker.com

If harking back to the elegance of the 1940s is your thing, then The Regent is your place. This traditional cocktail club, tucked behind the Gale South Beach, is located in a historic space formerly known as The Regent Hotel, which debuted in 1941. The small but energetic bar features live music, foolproof cocktails (try The Regent Old Fashioned) and a reprieve from the South Beach frenzy. 1690 Collins Ave., Miami Beach; 786.975.2555; regentcocktailclub.com
