From Aug. 1 to Sept. 30, foodies can experience the best of Miami’s culinary scene with Miami Spice. This annual promotion showcases more than 100 Miami-area restaurants that will each offer exquisite three-course meals at a huge discount (lunch $23; dinner $39). But for some, this highly anticipated event can’t come soon enough.
On July 28, four days before the official launch of Miami Spice, Zilbert International Realty Presents South of Spice which offers guests an exclusive Miami Spice preview at participating South of Fifth neighborhood restaurants. Each restaurant will create a private South of Spice lounge where guests can interact with incredible chefs and be the first to taste the restaurant’s Miami Spice menu including custom-paired wines and craft cocktails. All-inclusive tickets to this dine-around event are $45 ($35 for SoFi residents), and allow guests to sample the Miami Spice menus from every restaurant or spend all night indulging in one or two favorites.
In addition to honoring SoFi’s culinary acclaim, South of Spice is also a celebration of the SoFi neighborhood and its residents. “South of Spice offers the perfect ying and yang for which Miami Beach is so famous: great food and drink from some of the region’s finest restaurants mixed with nourishment for the mind from me and my fellow artists,” says best-selling author and featured South of Spice guest, Gerald Posner. Other featured guests include famed muralist David Le Batard (Lebo), photographer and producer Gustavo Tonelli, and other well-known SoFi residents who will mix and mingle with guests throughout the evening.
Proceeds from the event will benefit Community Initiatives Foundation’s EAT SMART program launching this September in Miami-Dade County. EAT SMART focuses on the battle against childhood hunger, childhood obesity and finding the perfect balance through nutritional awareness and individual development. Learn more at cifoundation.org.
“I live and operate my business in South of Fifth, and it’s always been my ‘small town’ within the otherwise bustling Miami Beach.
