In December, “The Greatest Show on H2O” returned to Fort Lauderdale’s Intracoastal for its 47th year, bringing with it a number of celebrations, cheer and, of course, lights.
The festivities kicked off on Dec. 8 with the Seminole Hard Rock Winterfest Black Tie Ball presented by Ford. The evening began with a red carpet reception in association with Republic National Distributing Company, followed by the main reception, where Broadway inspirations transported guests from imperial ballroom glamour to a risqué French club. Highlights included the impressive Fidelity Investments Silent Auction and special performances from the musical Anastasia presented by Broadway Across America. The event concluded with ball Co-Chairs Susan Renneisen and Gregg Snowden presenting Alyssa Lovitt as this year’s “Belle of the Ball.”
The Winterfest celebrations continued on Dec. 14 with the private Seminole Hard Rock Winterfest Grand Marshal Reception presented by JM Lexus, which honored the parade’s Grand Marshal Huey Lewis. On Dec. 15, the official Seminole Hard Rock Winterfest Boat Parade made its way down the Intracoastal. More than 400 community leaders and sponsors enjoyed the parade from the Hotwire Communications / Fision VIP Area presented by Holy Cross Hospital and Huizenga Family Foundation at Laura Ward Park. The coveted location just east of the historic Stranahan House and west of the Riverside Hotel provided a private retreat for VIP guests to watch the parade while mingling with hosts of the Winterfest Television Special and parade judges.
