Putting On The Ritz

In a city with close cultural connections to the world’s most coveted cigars, The Ritz-Carlton (800.542.8680, ritzcarlton.com) is upping the ante by stocking its four Miami hotels with the world’s most expensive stogie. Puffed on by such power players as President Bill Clinton, Bill Gates and Seal Team Six, His Majesty’s Reserve by Gurkha Cigars clocks in at $2,000 each, and only 75 boxes are produced annually. So what makes these jewels so sumptuous? The 12-year-old Dominican binder and filler is rolled into a 15-year aged Connecticut Maduro wrapper and then aged with a shot of Remy Martin’s Louis XIII cognac. With their distinctive aroma and taste, Gurkha Founder and CEO Kaizad Hansotia states it plainly, “They’re super sexy cigars.”
