Top Bartenders and Their Signature Drinks

David Perez & Will Thompson At The Local Craft Food & Drink
Grandma’s Banana Bread
 – Cinnamon-infused absinthe, black walnut bitters, Giffard Creme De Banana, High West American Prairie Bourbon

“We thought it would be cool to make a cocktail based on a comforting favorite: banana bread. We wanted it to be spirit forward — Manhattan/Sazerac-esque — so that the flavors can come through without being clouded by any creaminess or citrus. It’s garnished with a caramel candy, just like grandma used to give you!”

The Smoke Show … For 2
 – ABSOLUT Elyx Vodka, pineapple, jalapeño and liquid nitrogen

“This drink was curated as an elixir to cure wanderlust. The fusion of sweet fruit with a kick of jalapeño transport even the most seasoned traveler to a pineapple paradise.”

Tibor Vecsesi at NaiYaRa
The Killer Bee (Frozen Organic Cocktail) – Beefeater Gin, Kelvin lemon, Thai chili, lemongrass, ginger

“The Killer Bee (named for chef) is a take on a classic Bee’s Knees. I’ve been working with Kelvin slushes (machine it’s made in) for a little while now and wanted to do a rendition of the Bee’s Knees as a slush. The flavor profile — ginger, citrus, lemongrass and Thai bird chilies — is achieved in the frozen by reducing these ingredients in palm sugar and combining with the Beefeater.”

Mike Afif at COYA
Miami Elyxir –
ABSOLUT Elyx Vodka, pomegranate, Velvet Falernum liquor, fresh squeezed lemon, lychee and an edible flower garnish

“When the beverage director wanted to add a vodka cocktail to the menu, I decided that ABSOLUT Elyx would be the perfect flavor to play with. I added sweet notes with lychee because of its popularity and well known health benefits.”

John Lermayer at Sweet Liberty
Collins Park Sour – Fords Gin, Creme de Peche, orange blossom, lemon, Matcha

“It’s a riff on a classic cocktail called a Perfect Lady. I wanted to pay homage to the neighborhood where Sweet Liberty resides. The addition of orange blossom and Matcha green tea make it a very South Beach friendly cocktail.”
