Hospitality industry innovators Stephane Dupoux, Carlos Miranda and Chef Alfredo Alvarez take their most recent creation well beyond the ordinary. A re-purposed seaplane hangar, Salt and Pepper is a waterfront seafood bistro located on the bank of the Miami River. Its warehouse-like, indoor-outdoor atmosphere keeps the spirit of seafaring alive with a nautical motif, porthole windows and original rigging.

Frequented by celebrities such as Ryan Phillipe, Gloria Estefan, Jay Z and Beyonce, the space boasts two dining rooms, a private event space and an outdoor lounge. Boat enthusiasts enjoy their own private sanctuary: a 250-ft. dock with additional space across the river. (Guests who dock at the other bank are ferried across by Venetian gondola.) And while you may come for the swanky setting, you’ll stay for the food. Dine on signature favorites including braised Mediterranean calamari and baby artichoke; seasalt ravioli stuffed with pear, gorgonzola cheese and black truffle sauce; octopus tenders marinated in homemade aioli; and grass-fed ribeye steak and black truffle veal chop. Their enticing dessert menu offers decadent options like Seasalt PB & J and A Chocolate Dream – a mix of dark, milk and white chocolate infused with Grand Marnier and passion fruit sorbet.
