Mignonette — A Classic Oyster Bar

Blue Collar’s Danny Serfer has done it again. His latest restaurant, an oyster bar named Mignonette in Miami’s Edgewater neighborhood, adheres to the same “plain and fancy” mantra as his first eatery but with a focus on classic seafood dishes. Tucked into a refurbished 1930s gas station, the bright and airy restaurant serves signature dishes such as oysters Rockefeller and clams casino. Named after the vinegar-based sauce that traditionally accompanies oysters, Mignonette carries a selection of east and west coast oysters, and honoring Serfer’s penchant for home cooking, there are po’ boy sandwiches and slow-roasted prime rib. The weekend brunch menu features a flaky and flavorful crab Benedict and a zesty gumbo, the latter a perfect fit in a corner bistro whose exposed brick and iron lanterns give off a New Orleans vibe. “I wanted a classic oyster bar in a fun, unpretentious and unfussy environment,” says Serfer. And that’s exactly what you can expect from Mignonette. Mignonette is located at 210 NE 18th Street, Miami. 305.374.4635; mignonettemiami.com
