It’s in our nature to protect our young. What better time than the holidays, when the spirit of giving is at its pinnacle, to make a difference in a child’s life?

Every child deserves to feel as though they belong. Jewish Adoption and Family Care Options (JAFCO)’s mission is to care for abused and neglected children, and those with developmental disabilities. Although JAFCO was created to meet a need in the Jewish community, the organization considers it a privilege and a responsibility to serve any child or family in need, regardless of their religion.
With this all-important purpose in mind, JAFCO will hold its Chanukah Miracles Luncheon on Thursday, Nov. 16, at Turnberry Isle Miami. The event will feature a shopping boutique, a silent auction and the annual godparent pinning ceremony, which acknowledges new members of the Godparent Circle, a group of donors who pledge to spiritually adopt all the children JAFCO serves in its group home, emergency shelter and family preservation and developmental disability programs.
“It’s amazing to see such an outpouring of love from the community,” says Sarah Franco, JAFCO executive director. “The Aventura/North Miami chapter has grown so much over the years. The generosity expressed at the annual Chanukah Miracles Luncheon always puts smiles on the faces of our precious children during the holidays. That is a priceless gift.”
