On Sunday, March 19, at FAU’s Kaye Auditorium and Tuesday, March 21, at the Broward Center, world-class Maestra Sebrina Alfonso and the South FloridaSymphony again tipped their hats to Broadway by reprising their spectacular homage, And the Tony Goes to…
This sentimental production featured six versatile vocalists, who returned from last season’s launch to repeat their magnificent sold out performances. The vocalists saluted classic songs from 10 Tony Award-winning Broadway shows, including A Chorus Line, Camelot, Hello Dolly!, Kiss Me Kate, La Cage aux Folles, Les Miserables, My Fair Lady, Porgy and Bess, The Sound of Music and South Pacific.
The talented cast included Janna Baty (mezzo-soprano), Mara Bonde and Bridgette Gan (sopranos), Davron S. Monroe (tenor) and Neil Nelson and John Whittlesey (baritones). Beth Holland (actress) narrated with humor and style, and Ardean J. Landhuis (stage director and lighting designer) brought everything together in
to crowd-pleasing perfection.
