On Feb. 21, at the Broward Center and Feb. 23, at the Adrienne Arsht Center, virtuoso pianist Svetlana Smolina returned to the South Florida Symphony for Sergei Rachmaninov’s magnetic Piano Concerto No. 2 in C Minor directed by Maestra Sebrina Alfonso.
The program opened with Nikolai Rimsky-Korsakov’s The SnowMaiden (Snegurochka) and closed with Carl Nielsen’s Symphony No. 5, Opus 50. Born in Nizhny Novgorod, Russia, Smolina started developing her craft at a young age.
