How would you describe yourself? 

I am one of the most driven and determined businessmen out there. When it comes to work, I don’t mess around and always get the job done.

 

You have achieved huge success in your real estate career. Now, as the executive vice president at luxury real estate powerhouse Douglas Elliman, what advice would you give to the younger version of you? 

My advice to someone starting out in the business is to never give up. Although there are a lot of real estate agents in this city, if you put your mind to your goals and work hard enough, you will be a success.

 

What opportunities have come to you after being one of the key characters on Bravo’s Reality show, Million Dollar listing Miami? Did you enjoy the life of a reality star?

It was definitely something I had to get used to, but it was an opportunity of a lifetime and I feel blessed to have had it. Exposure is everything in this business, and the show has given me more exposure than I could have imagined, and I have been selling properties left and right. My numbers are increasing, and I hope to continue this growth throughout 2015.

 

What one building sums up “Miami” style and luxury to you?

I personally love the Apogee. I think it shows the chic style and flair Miami has to offer, while still remaining classy and private.

 

Which Miami developers or Realtors do you look to for inspiration? What have they accomplished that you admire?

I admire the developers in Miami. Jorge Perez has been one of the key influential players in the market and helped kick start this amazing rebound in the local market. I also admire Don Peebles. The product he has delivered in the Bath Club and now soon-to-be Bath Club Estates is far superior to its competition. He constantly pushes himself to exceed buyers’ expectations while raising the bar architecturally.

 

Miami’s property market took a tumble some years ago, but it has clearly bounced back! In your opinion, where’s the next ‘hot spot’ in Miami? What about this area makes it special and worth investing in?

The Miami market did take a few steps back, but today it’s different. There is more demand for product, and developments have adapted to buyers’ needs, offering sleek, modern design and world-class developments that are here to stay. Prices are soaring higher than they were at their peak. Downtown Miami, Wynwood, Edgewater and the Design District are all on the upswing. 1000 Museum is setting the bar for the ultimate luxury experience. Miami World Center, along with the increasing demand for high-end shops in the design district, is attracting buyers from all over the world.

 

Are you working on any new projects you can share with our readers?

I have recently starting selling the Bath Club Estates, which is the definition of luxury. With only 13 full-floor residences, ranging from 5,000 to 18,000 square feet, this will be the most sought-after building in Mid-Beach. Prices range from $7.5 million up to $50 million for the penthouse. All of the residences are completely customizable to meet the buyers’ needs and come with a private, climate-controlled two-car garage, poolside cabana and unbeatable service. I like to refer to the projects as Mansions on the Sand because that’s basically what they are, without all of the headache and maintenance of a single-family home.

 

How do you enjoy a day off in Miami?

On my days off, which aren’t many, I like to travel and spend time with my beautiful wife. She is very supportive of my business, and when I have free time, I like to spend it with her.

 

What’s the one thing about Miami that you just can’t live without?

I can’t get over the weather. I wake up every morning at 6 a.m. and watch the sun come up on my balcony. It’s something I wouldn’t give up for anything and drives me to keep pushing myself to new limits every day.
